Room Facilities

All our rooms have, in addition to the fabulous view, the following digital radio and CD player; tea(s) and a cafetiere for coffee, plus hot chocolate and a variety of other goodies. In the en suite can be found some of the luxurious H2O organic toiletry range, including shower gel, shampoo, soap, and body lotion. Thick fluffy towels, and 100% top quality cotton bedding on really comfortable beds are standard.

Drinking water. All our tap water is potable. We do not store water in tanks in the loft and the cold comes straight off the rising main. Our modern water softener is similar (except for size) to those used by the hospitals so there is no health risk to guests such that some of the older types may present.

A modern wireless fire alarm system helps to keep us all safe.

Guest Sitting Room

Squashy sofas to stretch out on or cuddle up in; a wood burner for when there is a little chill in the air; an honesty bar; a large flat screen television and DVD player; a puzzle on the go. Packs of cards and some games. As with the rest of this B and B there is no compromise with space and comfort.

Guest Breakfast Room

The bright and airy breakfast room with its individual tables offers: the luxury of bean to cup coffee; a breakfast that is made especially for you, at a time to suit you, from fresh (and where practical) local New Forest produce a room where the doors open out onto a patio and thence to lawns, so, on a warm morning, breakfast can be taken outside. And the view: with the Solent below the many yachts are already out and about sporting a mass of colour as they fly their huge spinnakers, the Lymington ferry marches back and forth to Yarmouth, and the occasional very large ship passes through; birds abound, some taking residence, and deer may be seen browsing in the arable land that runs alongside our eastern boundary.

The Grounds

The grounds of Harvest House New Forest B& B make a glorious outdoor room. To the rear, accessible from another side gate or through the breakfast room, the grounds stretch out and it isn’t difficult to find a private spot in which to read or relax. Take afternoon tea, or a glass of wine by the pond on a warm day.

The particular noise that water makes, and the sight of the brightly coloured koi swimming unhurriedly in the pond, all add another dimension to this bed and breakfast experience.

As the sun moves around, you can follow it finding a seat further down the grounds, or preferring the shade take a seat in the shelter of one of the tree canopies. You may like to play a game of table tennis, or try your luck the garden Jenga or Connect 4.

Gated security allows you to leave your car with complete confidence on the drive that sweeps up to the front of the house. A side gate allows pedestrian access to the Lymington Road from whence the village of Milford with its shops, pubs and restaurants is a mere 5 minutes walk away.

Parking

Ample, secure, off road, gated parking. With valuable classic cars ourselves we fully understand how important a good parking facility is to our guests. Having agreed an approximate time for your arrival the gates will generally be open at this time. At night and during daylight hours when we are out or somewhere in the grounds the gates will usually be closed.

On arrival guests have the use of a radio control button for the duration of their stay to allow vehicular ingress and egress. Pedestrian access is through a side gate at the top of the Vicarage Drive (the property next door whose drive we share) and is always unlocked for convenience when you dont wish to use your car.

We have space for bicycles under cover and even space for trailers if you want to trail your classic car down and use it to explore the area, leaving trailer and tow car safely at Harvest House.
